Zesty Buffalo Chicken Wings
Ingredients
Wings:
- 2 pounds chicken wings, split at joints, tips discarded
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Sauce:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup Frank’s RedHot sauce (or hot sauce of your choice)
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
For serving:
- Blue cheese dressing
- Celery sticks
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Place them in a large bowl and toss with vegetable oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place a wire rack on top. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the rack. Bake for about 45-50 minutes, or until the wings are golden and crispy.
- While the wings are baking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the hot sauce, white vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Simmer for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until well combined.
- Once the wings are cooked, transfer them to a large mixing bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.
- Switch from bake to broil and return the wings to the oven after coating with the sauce – keep a close eye to prevent burning, but let them broil for 30-60 seconds each side to get extra crispy.
- Serve the buffalo wings hot with blue cheese dressing and celery sticks on the side. Enjoy!
