Sweet Onion Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 1 32-oz package frozen, fully cooked Italian meatballs
- 1 Vidalia sweet onion, chopped
- ¼ cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 envelope onion soup mix
- 12-oz beer (or nonalcoholic beer – your choice)
- Hoagie or Ciabatta rolls (optional)
- Swiss cheese (optional)
You’ll also need:
- Crock Pot
- Slow cooker liner
- Cutting board
- Sharp knife
- Measuring cups
Directions:
- Place the slow cooker liner in the Crock Pot.
- Chop onion.
- Place meatballs, chopped onion, brown sugar, and onion soup mix into the Crock Pot. Pour the beer over the entire mixture.
- Put the lid on and heat on low for 4-6 hours.
- Serve as appetizer snacks with toothpicks or on hoagie rolls – my family likes them topped with Swiss cheese.
